The winner of the Best Conference Paper Award of A$1000 is Jianwu Chen from University of Hong Kong for the paper "Optimal CFO and Channel Estimation for OFDMA Uplink Using Importance Sampling" co-authored by Yik-Chung Wu and Tung-Sang Ng.

The winners of the two Best Student Paper Awards of A$300 each are:
- Yuji Kimura from Kitami Institute of Technology, Japan for the paper "Blind Detection of Dual-Rate DS-CDMA Signals over Time-Variant Channels" co-authored by Koji Shibata, Takakazu Sakai and Atsushi Nakagaki.
- Ming (Matt) Ruan from Australian National University, Australia for the paper: "Turbo Equalization using Particle Filtering with Grouping" co-authored by Mark Reed and Zhenning Shi.

Student Travel Grant Awards have been announced . Successful applicants are: Winai Jaikla (Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University), Andrew Mackie (La Trobe University), Duc Nguyen (University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo), Amit Rawal (Monash University), Sylvia Shan (La Trobe University).
