Michael Hoghooghi joined Motorola in 1986 where he served in a variety of technical roles in the product development groups in the paging and cellular businesses. While at Motorola he also served in a corporate role focused on standards and regulatory functions. His professional experience includes wireless communications, manufacturing, product development management, regulatory, and technical standards. Prior to the spin-off of Motorola's semiconductor business, Michael dealt with emerging wireless standards.

Michael now heads the Corporate Standards and Technology Organization in Freescale Semiconductor, and is based in Austin, Texas. His group manages affiliations with standards bodies and trade associations and scopes new opportunities in emerging standards and technologies. These responsibilities include formulation of internal procedures to guide and educate employees about appropriate ways to participate in standards and regulatory organizations.

Michael also manages Freescale's patenting and publishing initiatives. These responsibilities dovetail well to promote Freescale technologies and technical contributions in standards, regulatory organizations, and the market. Michael has a first-hand understanding of many standards both technically and from business and procedural perspectives. He holds several U.S and international patents, with several more applications in process. Michael holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University and a Masters degree in Program Management from George Washington University.
