CFP for Special Session on Localization Technologies
Convener: Dr Mark Hedley, CSIRO ICT Center, Australia
We will be holding a special session on "Localization Technologies" at the 7th International Symposium on Communication and Information Technologies (ISCIT) to be held in Sydney, Australia in October 2007. Further details of the conference can be found at http://www.elec.uow.edu.au/ISCIT2007/ The special session covers all localization technologies (e.g. satellite navigation, radio location, and inertial navigation) and topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Developments in localization technologies and algorithms
- Localization testbeds and measurements
- System performance measurements and comparisons
- Tracking algorithms
- Applications
DUE DATE FOR PAPERS: 10 June 2007
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS: The paper MUST be submitted in the normal way to ISCIT 2007. Details are at http://www.elec.uow.edu.au/ISCIT2007/submission.htm In addition email a copy of the paper to Dr Mark Hedley (Mark.Hedley@csiro.au) so that we know to include the paper in the special session, subject to acceptance by the standard peer review process. Please pass this on to others who may be interested.

CFP for Special Session on RFID and Supply Chain Management
Conveners: Dr Katina Michael and Dr Tim Coltman, University of Wollongong, Australia
Much of the received wisdom emanating from modern corporations indicates that business competition is being fought “supply chain versus supply chain” rather than “firm versus firm”. The ability to deliver goods and services in full, on time and error free to customers is therefore of increasing strategic importance to any organization, independent of size or sector. From demand forecasting, to the sourcing of raw materials, right through to manufacture and dispatch- visibility in the supply chain is becoming an important facet of any modern operation. How to leverage emerging information technologies, such as radio frequency identification (RFID) to create innovative opportunities in service engineering, management and marketing are important questions for executives. This special issue invites papers in the broad domain of RFID, information systems and supply chain management. Relevant topics include but are not limited to:
- Supply Chain Management & Information Systems
- RFID return on investment; Data warehousing and data mining, On-demand delivery; Service recovery; Warranty management; Reverse logistics; Real time identification & tracking technology; Simulation; Software agent based systems in logistics.
- RFID & Communications
- Long, mid and short range RFID; RFID middleware and systems integration; Standards; Security and privacy regulations; Data mining and RFID; RFID data analysis and valuation; RFID data management; Decision support systems.
Authors are invited to submit original and significant research contributions in the aforementioned areas. Papers should not be previously published, or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere.
