Biography
Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam received the Ph.D. degree from the University
of Technology Sydney (UTS), Sydney, Australia, in 2014, in electrical
engineering. From September 2013 to September 2014 he was a Research
Associate with the ARC discovery project entitled "An Optimal
Electrical Drive System for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles"
at UTS. He was appointed as an Associate Professor at Rajshahi University
of Engineering & Technology (RUET) from July 2015 to March 2017
and was promoted to a Professor in April 2017. Since January 2018
he has been working with the School of Electrical, Computer and
Telecommunications Engineering, University of Wollongong, Australia.
He has authored and co-authored more than 100 technical papers including
more than 26 IEEE Transactions (IEEE, IET, AIP, Elsevier, and Hindawi),
3 books (Springer), and 5 book chapters (Springer, IET). Dr. Rabiul
is a Senior Member of the IEEE (USA). His research interests are in
the fields of renewable energy technologies, power electronic converters,
power quality and reliability, electrical machines, and smart power
systems. He was the Guest Editor for IEEE Transactions on Energy Conversion
(IEEE TEC) and IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity (IEEE TAS).
As a Guest Editor, currently he is editing a special issue for IET
Electric Power Applications.
