2007 Illawarra and South EastScience and Engineering Challenge Tuesday 20th November, 2007
University Hall, Building 11, University of Wollongong The first Science and Engineering Challenge in Illawarra and South East involved more than 200 students from 7 schools in Wollongong area. The award winning science competition took place at the Unihall in the University of Wollongong on 16 November, 2007. You can read the news of 2007 Challenge from this link. Schools joined 2007 Challenge are:
Each school entered teams of 32 year 10 students to take part in hands on science and engineering type activities. The students were divided into groups of 4 and given either a full day or 2 half day tasks to work on. It was wonderful to see the students totally engaged in their tasks. The accompanying teachers were delighted to be able to watch their students work in teams striving to succeed, continually modifying and improving as they went along. The Science and Engineering Challenge would not have been possible without the generous financial support of its sponsors as well as the in-kind support it received from 13 different companies and organizations. The Challenge relies heavily on volunteers in order to run the activities and support the students to complete their activities. We are lucky enough to get enough volunteers by the support of School of Electrical, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering, at UoW and Rotary Club of Wollongong. WE have received a lot of positive feed back from both teachers and students. Videos from 2007Video 1 (21MB), Video 2 (15MB) Pictures from 2007
